The secretion labs should look at the cleanliness scores first, and then at the presence of Trichomonas and Candida infections as well as bacterial vaginosis (BV). Vaginal discharge grades I and II represent good cleanliness and no inflammation, grade III represents inflammation, and grade IV represents more inflammation in the vagina. Then look for Trichomonas, Candida, and BV to be plus or minus, if it is minus it means there is no infection, if it is plus it means there is an infection with the corresponding type of vaginitis. For women with increased vaginal discharge, with or without vulvovaginal itching, we recommend gynecological outpatient consultation to complete the examination of vaginal discharge, to clarify the presence of vaginitis and the type of vaginitis, and standardized treatment under the guidance of a professional doctor.
