Vision is divided into distance vision and near vision Distance vision: generally standing at a distance of 5 meters to look at our vision chart, this is more familiar to everyone. (The doctor needs to know the naked eye vision and corrected vision of everyone looking at the distance) Near vision: the doctor will give you a near vision chart to check your near vision, many people have presbyopia when the elderly, near vision will get worse. Visual acuity is also divided into naked eye vision and corrected vision Naked eye vision: is your vision measured without glasses. Corrected visual acuity: the visual acuity that you can see with a certain number of degrees through medical optometry, this is the visual acuity obtained with the help of optical lenses, so it is called corrected visual acuity, which is often more important than naked eye vision. I am usually more concerned about the patient’s corrected visual acuity when they visit me. So sometimes I will ask the patient to go to the optometrist and get the corrected visual acuity to see if there is an improvement over the corrected visual acuity, if it can be corrected to 1.0, it means there is not a big problem and it is fine to replace the glasses lenses. If it doesn’t improve to 1.0, it’s time to look for the cause of the decrease in corrected vision.
