What to do when the blood vessels in the temples are swollen and painful

The swelling and pain of the blood vessels in the temples need to be considered as vasoneurotic headache, also known as migraine. For acute attacks of migraine, analgesics, such as ibuprofen capsules and zolmitriptan, can be given promptly. If the patient’s blood pressure is high, antihypertensive treatment can be given. During acute migraine attacks, patients should rest quietly and avoid strenuous activities, and should not drink strong tea or coffee.
