What to do if your thyroid nodule gets bigger after vaccination

There is no actual relationship between enlarged thyroid nodules and vaccination. Enlarged thyroid nodules are usually associated with hyperthyroidism, thyroid cysts, thyroid tumors and other diseases, which should be treated with general treatment, medication, conservative treatment or surgery in conjunction with the cause of the disease.
1. Hyperthyroidism: it is caused by excessive production of thyroid hormone and may appear as enlarged thyroid nodules. Iodine-free diet should be avoided, and reasonable use of drugs is also needed to control thyroid hormones, such as methimazole. In severe cases, iodine 131 radiation therapy or surgery may be performed.
2. Thyroid cyst: it is a kind of cystic lesion without typical clinical symptoms, and generally does not have malignant changes. Most patients do not have obvious symptoms and do not need special treatment. Larger cysts can be surgically removed.
3. Thyroid tumor: Surgery is the mainstay of thyroid treatment. If it is a benign tumor, the prognosis is good after surgery, whereas for malignant tumors, more thyroid tissue may need to be removed, and lymph node dissection can be performed if necessary.
Regular observation is recommended after vaccination. Adverse reactions after vaccination are usually characterized by itching and redness of the skin, etc. If there is any similar situation, timely consultation is required. If thyroid nodules become enlarged, it is also necessary to go to the hospital for further treatment.
