Causes of Kidney Cysts

Renal cysts belong to a benign lesion of the kidney, and common causes include tubular occlusion, genetic factors, congenital dysplasia, and abnormal secretion of active substances such as epidermal growth factor (EGF) and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1). Predisposing factors include trauma, drugs, infection, age, and overexertion.
1. Etiological factors: such as occlusion of renal tubules and peripheral blood vessels, loss of contact between renal pelvic diverticulum and collecting system, renal tubular obstruction caused by ischemia and local inflammation in the renal parenchyma; hereditary factors; congenital dysplasia; recently some scholars have found that cystic fluid of the patients contains EGF, IGF-1 and a kind of active substance that promotes the formation of cysts, which may also be involved in the process of cell proliferation and promotion of the cysts’ formation.
2. Predisposing factors: renal trauma, surgery and renal puncture are also predisposing factors leading to renal cysts. Inflammation of kidney may also lead to blockage of renal tubules and formation of diverticula, which gradually increase in size and form cysts. Certain medications (pesticides, chemicals), advanced age, and overwork can also induce the formation of kidney cysts.
The causes of renal cysts are relatively many, after suffering from renal cysts, you need to go to the regular hospital in time for examination, to clarify the cause of the disease after targeted treatment.
