It is normal to have an elevated body temperature along with inflammation of the lymph nodes. This is because common inflammation of lymph nodes is due to bacterial or viral infection of the body. When these heterogeneous substances attack, they cause the body to produce many inflammatory mediators, such as interleukins, which cause the body to react defensively i.e. increase in body temperature. In most cases, the body can dissipate heat by drinking warm water, taking oral cephalosporin antibiotics or antiviral antibiotics, and if necessary, taking medicines to clear heat and lower fire, such as Jin Yin Hua Oral Liquid or Shuang Huang Lian Oral Liquid. However, if the temperature continues to rise and the lymph nodes are swollen, further examination is needed to exclude the possibility of blood system diseases, autoimmune system diseases, or even lymphoma.
