Double eyelid surgery recovery process

Double eyelid surgery is divided into three ways: the buried wire method, small incision and full incision. The recovery process of the three methods is as follows: 1. Buried wire method: less traumatic surgery, faster recovery, no need to remove stitches. Post-operative swelling and pain will occur, which can continue to improve with time. To prevent excessive swelling of the eyes, ice packs can be applied 1-2 times a day for 30-60 minutes each time within 3 days after surgery, and do not apply hot packs within 72 hours after surgery. Generally, swelling can be reduced in most people in about 1-2 weeks after surgery, but there are individual differences. Within 1 month after surgery, it is best to avoid strenuous exercise; 2. Small incision as well as total incision method: generally about 7 days after surgery, the stitches are removed, do not touch the living water at the wound before the stitches are removed to prevent infection, and you can bathe after the stitches are removed. Anti-scar ointment can be used from one week after stitch removal and applied continuously for 3-6 months to prevent scar proliferation. About 3 months after surgery, the swelling can be completely reduced and return to natural state. It takes about six months after surgery to fully recover, which varies from person to person. During this period, you need to take more rest and use your eyes as little as possible to reduce eye fatigue, and you should not press or rub your eyes with your hands to avoid delaying the recovery time of the wound.
