Statins have comparable side effects, so there is no such thing as a statin with the least side effects.
Commonly used statins include simvastatin, atorvastatin, and resuvastatin. The main side effects of most statins include liver abnormalities, elevated muscle enzymes, and myalgia.
As far as individual side effects are concerned, Rosuvastatin has a lesser effect on the muscles and can be switched to Rosuvastatin if symptoms of myalgia occur with other lipid-lowering drugs. Although the incidence of this adverse reaction is low, it should be of great concern because it is extremely harmful.
Seek prompt medical attention for any myalgia, tenderness, or muscle weakness while taking the drug, and monitor liver enzymes (AST, ALT) and phosphokinase (CPK) and myoglobin levels every 4 to 6 weeks.
Contraindications to this class of drugs generally include: ① patients allergic to statins are prohibited; ② patients with active liver disease are prohibited; ③ patients with myopathy are prohibited; ④ pregnant women are prohibited.
Usually use the drug must be used under the guidance of a doctor, do not use the drug casually, in order to avoid adverse side effects.
