Doing an angiogram followed by stenting requires informed consent signatures from family members, out-of-the-operating-room accompaniment, and post-procedure care. Severe narrowing of coronary arteries affects the blood supply to the heart muscle. In order to avoid myocardial infarction and improve the prognosis of patients, early coronary angiography is performed to clarify the condition and stent implantation is performed to dilate narrowed coronary arteries, ensure the blood supply to the vital heart muscle and maintain the function of the heart. The imaging and stent implantation procedures can be performed consecutively, which is an invasive diagnostic and therapeutic process with certain surgical risks, so the doctor will talk to the patient’s family before the procedure and the family will need to sign the informed consent form. During the imaging and stent implantation procedure, a family member needs to wait outside the operating room to avoid possible adverse reactions during the examination or treatment, and if the doctor needs to perform emergency treatment, the family needs to give informed consent and sign the form. After the stent implantation surgery, the patient needs to stay in bed for at least 6 hours, and the site of the puncture wound also needs to be cared for, so postoperative care also needs to be accompanied by family members. If the family is around, the patient can notify the medical staff in time when he/she encounters some situations during the hospitalization, so that the doctors or nurses can deal with them in time.
