What to do if you have a shadow on a CT of your lungs

CT lungs with shadows need to be treated accordingly with the symptoms and the nature of the shadows. Clinically, it is commonly seen in lung infection, tuberculosis, lung cancer and so on.
1. Lung infection: including viral infection, bacterial infection and atypical pathogenic bacterial infection, etc. The patient manifests fever, cough, sputum, and chest pain in severe cases, and high density shadow can be seen in lung CT.
(1) Viral infections should be treated with antiviral drugs, such as oseltamivir and ribavirin.
(2) Bacterial infections should be treated with broad-spectrum antibiotics, such as penicillins, cephalosporins, and levofloxacin.
(3) For atypical pathogens, such as Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, or Legionella pneumonitis, it is recommended to give macrolides such as azithromycin, roxithromycin, or quinolones such as levofloxacin.
(4) If caused by fungi, antifungal drugs should be given, such as triazoles: fluconazole; echinocandins such as caspofungin etc.
2. Tuberculosis: patients may show low fever in the afternoon, night sweating, cough, fatigue, etc. CT can see mass-like high-density shadow or accompanied by hilar lymph node enlargement, and need to be given anti-tuberculosis drugs, including isoniazid, rifampicin, ethambutol or pyrazinamide, etc., and at the same time, nutrition should be strengthened.
3. Lung cancer: further fiberoptic bronchoscopy or lung puncture should be given to confirm the diagnosis by pathology, and surgery or anti-tumor treatment should be performed.
If there are shadows in lung CT, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time, after clarifying the cause of the disease, the doctor will carry out symptomatic treatment.
