About 25-40% of people snore when they sleep, and it is most common among 50-60 year olds. Most of them snore occasionally, but there are 3.8% of children who snore frequently or every night. Snoring is the result of insufficient oxygen supply and carbon dioxide retention in the body, which will affect the growth and development of children. Some people measured the length and weight of snoring children in 6 age groups from 4 to 9 years old. The results showed that the snoring children were 1.42-3.99 cm shorter and 0.59-2.69 kg lighter than the non-snoring group. The attention and memory of the children were also lower in the snoring group than in the non-snoring group. So it is said that children snore loudly and their development should be affected. Snoring is caused by collapse of the soft tissue between the epiglottis and the posterior nostril for various reasons, and the air swirls in this area, causing the surrounding pharyngeal tissues to flutter. Common causes in children include enlarged tonsils, enlarged adenoids, chronic rhinitis and curved nasal septum. Therefore, children who snore very loudly every night should be promptly examined by a doctor and treated for the cause. At the same time, let the children sleep in the side position, the pillow should not be too high, and the head should be slightly tilted back to keep the airway as clear as possible.
