If an ultrasound before 28 weeks of pregnancy reveals that the lower edge of the placenta reaches the endocervix, pregnant women are advised to take rest and avoid actions that increase abdominal pressure, such as mopping the floor and lifting heavy objects, and to avoid intercourse to avoid stimulating the endocervix and the occurrence of painless vaginal bleeding. After 28 weeks of gestation, if the placenta still reaches the endocervix, it is called marginal placenta praevia. Due to the formation of the lower part of the uterus in late pregnancy and the gradual shortening of the cervical canal, marginal placenta praevia is prone to painless recurrent vaginal bleeding, in which case it is recommended that the patient should be admitted to the hospital in time, and if necessary, a cesarean section should be performed at the right time to avoid massive vaginal bleeding, which may endanger the life of the fetus and the pregnant woman.
