Can ultrasound reveal tumors?

Ultrasound can initially determine tumors, especially for tumors occurring in parenchymal organs such as liver cancer, breast cancer, thyroid cancer, etc. The specific pathological nature of occupying lesions can only be clarified through ultrasound-guided puncture biopsy or pathology after surgical resection. It is also easy to distinguish from cysts, which mostly show low density and non-echoic signal under ultrasound. Therefore, ultrasound can make preliminary diagnosis of tumor, and further pathological confirmation is needed for the tumor found by ultrasound.
