Biopsy of non-atrophic gastritis with gastric sinus erosion is done to check the extent of gastritis and the presence of cancer. Non-atrophic gastritis refers to chronic non-atrophic gastritis, in which gastroscopy shows congestion and edema of gastric mucosa. Gastric sinus erosion is mostly seen in chronic gastritis, which is caused by inflammation of the gastric mucosa, and its damage is limited to the epithelial layer of gastric mucosa, and does not damage the mucosal layer. If it breaks through the muscular layer of the mucosa, it is called an ulcer. Non-atrophic gastritis with gastric sinus erosion is more likely than normal to develop other pathologies. In order to exclude this possibility, a biopsy is needed to check the degree of gastritis, so as to further determine whether other pathologies, such as cancer, have occurred. It is recommended to seek regular medical attention and follow the doctor’s recommendations for examination, timely detection and regular treatment.
