Signs of improvement in tuberculosis

Signs of TB improvement include improvement in clinical symptoms, improvement in chronic wasting, and absorption of lung lesions on lung CT or chest x-ray. Tuberculosis is a chronic wasting disease and can present with prolonged symptoms such as low-grade fever, night sweats, cough, sputum, and chest pain. With anti-tuberculosis treatment, the above symptoms can gradually improve, and there is improvement of discomfort such as weight gain, increased appetite, and peripheral weakness. If there is a gradual change from pallor to rosy complexion, the hematocrit of routine blood tests will improve, and the hematocrit will decrease compared to before. Women who previously experienced menstrual disorders and amenorrhea will gradually return to normal menstruation. Pulmonary CT or chest x-ray suggests restriction or shrinkage of the lesion, formation of fibrosis or calcification, and a decrease or disappearance of fluid volume in patients with previous pleural effusion.
