Is cystatin C1.4mg/L serious?

Usually the normal range of serum cystatin C is between 0.6 and 2.5 mg/L. Cystatin C1.4 mg/L is normal and generally not serious.
The rate of cystatin production in the body is relatively constant and is not affected by inflammation or tumors, or by muscle volume, or gender. The kidney is the only organ that removes cystatin C from the circulation, and its concentration is determined primarily by the glomerular filtration rate. Cystatin C can be used to assess the glomerular filtration rate of the kidney and is one of the indicators of renal function.
Serum cystatin C1.4mg/L is within the normal range and is usually not serious. If it is elevated in diabetic nephropathy, hypertensive nephropathy and other diseases, the patient should clarify the cause of the disease and standardize the treatment under the guidance of the physician.
If the serum cystatin C is elevated, patients are advised to go to regular hospitals in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment.
