What causes groin cramps

Cramping in the groin area is not excepted as a result of a local muscle strain or spasm. Local swelling may also occur, especially after strenuous exercise. This should be treated with physical therapy, including cold compresses, and oral pain medication if necessary. Swollen lymph nodes in the inguinal region can also cause pain and even fever, especially if they are infected, and should be treated with anti-infective therapy. There are also inguinal masses, especially inguinal hernias, which become more pronounced in upright position and after exertion and require further surgical treatment if necessary. Metastasis of lymph nodes in the inguinal region caused by malignant tumors can also cause pain and discomfort. If the metastatic lymph nodes fuse into a mass, it may also compress the local nerves and blood vessels, and even complicate the formation of deep vein thrombosis in the lower limbs.
