Can hyperthyroidism be breastfed?

Hyperthyroidism, i.e. hyperthyroidism, can be breastfed if the condition is stable. Breastfeeding is not recommended if radioactive iodine 131 treatment is being administered. Hyperthyroidism is a clinical syndrome caused by overproduction of thyroid hormones and has a good prognosis after standardized treatment. For patients with stabilized hyperthyroidism, breastfeeding is possible and generally will not adversely affect the baby’s health. However, breastfeeding is not recommended if the patient is receiving treatment, especially radioactive iodine 131 treatment, so as not to affect the baby’s health. Whether patients with hyperthyroidism can breastfeed or not cannot be generalized, it is recommended that patients determine whether they can breastfeed or not according to their own personal situation, if it is not clear, it is recommended to go to the local regular hospital for detailed consultation.
