Are the nodules in the lungs hairy enough to be serious?

Roughness of lung nodules is not necessarily a serious sign, it may be an inflammatory nodule caused by infection, but it may also be a malignant nodule, which needs to be taken seriously. Inflammatory nodules caused by infection usually have a history of respiratory tract infection such as coughing up sputum, and generally have uniform density within the nodule, with a small amount of exudate around the edges, which can be seen as rough edges of the nodule on imaging. Infected nodules usually shrink or even disappear after anti-infection treatment. In the case of cancerous nodules, the internal density of the nodule is usually not uniform. When the nodule grows infiltratively to the periphery, it may be characterized by non-smooth edges of the nodule with a burr-like appearance. For such nodules, the nature of the nodule can be clarified by bronchoscopy, CT-guided lung puncture or thoracoscopy. Don’t be nervous if you find hairy nodules in the lungs, consult a doctor in time, who will make a comprehensive judgment and give a scientific treatment plan based on medical history, clinical manifestations, imaging and blood biochemistry and other auxiliary examinations.
