The C13 test generally refers to the C-13 Breath Test Detection System, and children can usually have the C-13 Breath Test Detection System done in order to help detect whether or not they have H. pylori infection in their bodies. The C-13 Breathalyzer is the gold standard for clinical detection of H. pylori infection, and allows patients to blow into a specific disposable breath test card to detect the number of H. pylori bacteria in their body. In general, if a child is suspected of having H. pylori infection, parents can bring the child to the hospital for the C-13 Breathalyzer. It is important to note that patients are required to fast or abstain from food for three hours before the C-13 Breathalyzer test.
