Lime Functions and Effects

Lime is a food that provides vitamins and other nutrients, and does not have the same effects as a medicine. Limes are a type of lemon and are generally used for juicing to add flavor to food and as a seasoning in cooking to reduce the fishy taste of food. Due to its acidic flavor, it is not usually eaten raw. Limes are rich in citric acid, which can promote the secretion of stomach acid, and thus have a certain effect on increasing appetite. Limes are also rich in vitamins, generally in vitamin C, the content of which can be up to 22mg/100g, and therefore can also be used as a source of vitamin C for those who need it. Due to its sour taste, excessive consumption is not recommended to avoid gastrointestinal discomfort.
