Do I need to remove the kerf pins, screws and wires that were inserted during surgery for a dislocated scaphoid?

Screws, pins or wires placed during surgery should be removed 6-8 weeks after surgery, otherwise they will prevent rotation of the clavicle and full abduction of the upper limb, and prolonged retention of the screws and extensive shoulder movement may cause a delayed fracture of the clavicle.
