What to do if a child is nearsighted

Myopia is a kind of refractive error. Children with myopia will have blurred vision at distance and good vision at near distance, etc. Children with myopia can wear eyeglasses to correct their myopia and improve their vision. Wearing eyeglasses is the preferred way to correct myopia. Common eyeglasses on the market can be categorized into frame eyeglasses and corneal reshaping lenses, etc. Frame eyeglasses use concave lenses, which will make the focus of parallel beams of light fall on the retina after entering. Keratoplasty, on the other hand, can not only correct myopia, but also control the progression of myopia and improve the patient’s vision. If myopic children do not want to wear glasses in adulthood, surgical correction of myopia is also possible, such as corneal laser surgery, intraocular lens implantation and so on. Parents are advised to bring their myopic children to regular eye hospitals to assess their condition and standardize treatment under the guidance of doctors.
