Varicose vein surgery is not a minor surgery?

Many people think that surgery for varicose veins in the lower extremities is a minor procedure, but this is not really the case. The clarity of the anatomy of the root of the saphenofemoral vein in the inguinal region (where the great saphenous vein converges into the femoral vein) determines the safety and effectiveness of the procedure. Ligation of the diseased penetrating vein in the lower leg is an important measure to prevent recurrence of varicose veins after surgery. Although many hospitals are now advocating fully minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins in the lower extremities, our experience with tens of thousands of previous surgeries shows that the chances of recurrence after surgery are high if the root of the saphenous vein is not ligated at a high level and the penetrating vein of the lower leg lesion is not ligated. It is also important to clarify the etiology of varicose veins in the lower extremities before surgery. Buga syndrome, Cockett syndrome, arteriovenous fistula, varicose veins with bone hypertrophy syndrome (KTS), vascular malformation, post-deep vein thrombosis syndrome, retroperitoneal fibrosis, various tumors and other factors causing inferior vena cava syndrome can lead to varicose veins in the lower extremities. However, these diseases are often not as good as they could be if they were operated on as simple varicose veins of the lower extremities.
