Children’s Dioxopromethazine Hydrochloride Granules are mostly routinely available at 1.5 mg per sachet twice a day, noting that children at different stages of life use different dosages.
Dioxopromethazine hydrochloride is clinically used to treat cough, asthma, urticaria and itchy skin, etc. The more commonly used specification is 1.5 mg per sachet, and the dosage is as follows:
1. If a child is between one and two years of age, 0.75 mg (half a sachet) at a time is generally recommended. Twice daily.
2.If the age group is between three and four years old, 1.5 mg (1 sachet) at a time. Twice daily.
3. For the age group between five and six years, 2.25 mg (1½ sachets) at a time. Twice daily.
It is not recommended for children who are allergic to the drug, in addition, the drug may cause drowsiness and a feeling of weakness after taking it. In China, there are reports of serious extrapyramidal adverse reactions after the use of the drug, as well as convulsions caused by overdose in children, so it should always be taken under the guidance of a doctor, and should not be used on its own.
