How to check for breast lumps

Breast lumps are often encountered clinically, and the main ways to check breast lumps include the following: First, patients can determine this through self-examination, which should be done on a fixed day of each menstrual cycle, for example, a week after the menstrual cycle, when hormonal stimulation of breast tissue is relatively mild and the examination is more effective. Patients should lie in a flat position and palpate both sides of the breast in a fixed order. For larger lumps that can be touched, if there are difficulties in handling them on their own, they can go to the hospital and contact a doctor for palpation. Secondly, patients can routinely undergo ultrasound examination of the breast, which is more sensitive and can not only accurately examine the lump on the breast, but also analyze the nature of the lump through its general state. Thirdly, mammography can be performed, which is more sensitive for lumps with obvious calcification. Fourth, breast MRI can be performed, which is more expensive.
