There are three types of surgery for bilateral varicocele. 1. traditional open surgery, in which an incision is made in the groin and the internal spermatic veins are ligated in the groin, such as the retroperitoneum or the inguinal area, is the most traditional surgery. This surgery has a recurrence rate of about 25%.2. Nowadays, the most commonly done surgery is laparoscopic surgery for bilateral varicocele or microscopic surgery for bilateral varicocele. Laparoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive surgery that does not require an incision, but three small holes are made in the abdomen to perform the operation and the surgery is observed on the monitor. The failure rate of this surgery can almost reach about 1%, which is much better than traditional surgical methods.3. Microscopic surgery, where the patient can operate under local anesthesia, ligates the varicose veins one by one after making an incision in the scrotum. This surgery has almost no recurrence rate and the best results.
