Cornhusk can usually be infused directly into water. However, the effects of the infusion are limited and generally do not achieve a therapeutic effect.
Cornhusk has the effect of diuretic and decongestant. It is mainly used to treat nephritis edema, dysuria (unruly urination), damp-heat jaundice, hypertension and so on.
Clinically, for the treatment of nephritis edema, cirrhosis ascites, cornhusk can be used with donggua peel, azuki bean, vervain; cornhusk is used with plantain and lianqiancao for the treatment of feverish gonorrhea (burning and stinging pain is obvious when urinating, accompanied by frequent urination and urgency, and discomfort of pulling in the small abdomen), and unfavorable urination.
The adverse reactions and contraindications of cornhusk are not known.
If there is any discomfort after drinking cornhusk in water, it is recommended to stop using it and seek medical advice promptly.
