Will a small amount of tricuspid regurgitation get worse?

Patients with a small amount of tricuspid regurgitation who do not have organic lesions or serious comorbidities of the heart valves and who do not usually feel significant discomfort generally have a good prognosis and will rarely become increasingly severe. Those with associated infective endocarditis, rheumatic heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, right heart insufficiency and atrial fibrillation should be treated aggressively or checked regularly to monitor disease progression.
