Common complications of chemotherapy for lung cancer

Most lung cancer patients need to use chemotherapy treatment, which has a large number of toxic side effects, depending on different chemotherapy regimens and different drugs, as follows: 1. the most common toxic side effect is gastrointestinal reaction, most patients will experience nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite after adopting a certain chemotherapy regimen, these reactions are more common in platinum, and cisplatin has a larger gastrointestinal reaction; 2. bone marrow Inhibition is basically a characteristic of all chemotherapy drugs, inhibiting the hematopoietic function of bone marrow, leading to a decrease in white blood cells, platelets, and hemoglobin, which are more common; 3, liver function damage, because chemotherapy drugs need to be metabolized by the liver, and when they are metabolized by the liver, they also have a killing effect on normal cells, leading to abnormal liver function and elevated transaminases; 4, there are effects on kidney function, and the the same effect on liver function. Some drugs are metabolized by the kidneys and produce damage to normal glomeruli during excretion through the kidneys. The most common one is cisplatin, which is more damaging to the kidneys, so it should be hydrated during use; 5. Mucosal reactions, especially 5-fluorouracil drugs, have greater mucosal reactions, especially in the oral mucosa and esophageal and intestinal mucosa; 6. If the diarrhea is severe, it can lead to dehydration, which is also a side effect to be noted.
