What is the reason for the swelling of the eyes and face

If a patient has puffiness in both the eyes and face, the following should be considered: First, inflammatory infections should be considered, such as cellulitis in the surrounding soft tissue and skin tissue, which in these cases cause redness, swelling, heat, and dysfunction around the eyes due to bacteria, viruses, or other pathogenic microorganisms. Second, for non-infectious factors, most commonly hypothyroidism or hypoadrenocorticism, patients may develop facial edema or swelling around the body. Third, for patients with chronic renal insufficiency, there will be a large amount of proteinuria and hypoproteinemia, which will lead to clinical symptoms of puffiness in the eyes and face. Fourth, for states similar to anemia or malnutrition, patients will also have clinical signs of puffiness around the eyes due to malnutrition.
