Causes of pain in the ear area from biting things

The causes of pain at the root of the ear after biting are temporomandibular joint dysfunction, temporomandibular joint arthritis, acute otitis externa and so on.
1. Temporomandibular joint dysfunction: when the wrong biting habit has been developed for a long time or when anxiety, stress and other mental factors lead to temporomandibular joint dysfunction, the coordination of temporomandibular joints will be problematic, which can make the patient have the symptom of biting pain in the root of the ear, and there can be pain in opening the mouth, joint popping and other clinical manifestations.
2. Temporomandibular arthritis: when the patient suffers from temporomandibular arthritis, when biting something, there will be a force between the upper and lower teeth, and the force can be transmitted to the temporomandibular joints in front of the ears, so temporomandibular arthritis will make the pain in the root of the ear when biting something.
3. Acute otitis externa: because the temporomandibular joint is located below the front of the ear canal, so when the patient has to bite the teeth when the force can be passed through the temporomandibular joint, the skin of the external auditory canal can produce part of the tension, so otitis externa when the patient bites something can produce pain in the root of the ear.
When the patient has the clinical manifestation of pain in the root of the ear when biting things, the patient should go to the hospital for examination to determine the cause of the disease, under the guidance of the doctor for treatment.
