What’s wrong with a hard object in the anus?

There are two conditions of a hard object in the anus. First, common polyps of the rectum or anal canal, which are raised lesions of the mucosa. Patients have a foreign body sensation during defecation or blood in the stool, and noticeable irregularities are found in the stool. Second, prolapse of the mucous membrane of internal hemorrhoids and severe circumferential internal hemorrhoids can present with difficulty in defecation. Anoscopy in both cases can usually lead to a clear diagnosis. The most effective treatment is surgical excision, especially for anal polyps, because benign polyps have the potential to become malignant. Early on, they can be ligated or excised under local anesthesia under anoscopy, and patients with hemorrhoids can opt for circumferential excision of the hemorrhoidal mucosa under the anastomosis. After the surgery, you should eat a liquid diet, have regular bowel movements, pay attention to perianal hygiene, and insist on daily bathing, and after defecation, it is best to have a local dressing change to prevent infection and promote healing.
