The efficacy of Xihuang Pills is to reduce swelling and dissipate nodules, clear heat and remove toxins, and is used for carbuncles (a kind of poisonous sore, acute suppurative disease occurring on the surface of the body, the limbs, and the internal organs), furuncles (a kind of skin disease referring to furuncles of a serious degree), cancerous tumors, scrofula (mainly referring to tuberculosis of the lymph nodes in the neck) caused by heat and toxin congestion, and other evidence. Xihuang Pill is composed of Vinegar Frankincense, Vinegar Myrrh, Artificial Oxalis, Artificial Musk. In the formula, vinegar frankincense, vinegar myrrh subdues swelling and generates muscle, artificial hyssop clears heat and removes toxins, and artificial musk subdues swelling, relieves pain and passes through the meridians. The combination of all the drugs has the effect of clearing heat and removing toxins, subduing swelling and dispersing knots. This product is mainly used for treating carbuncle and furuncle caused by heat and toxic congestion, cancerous tumors, as well as rheumatism (multiple abscesses originating in the deep muscle). Adverse effects of Xihuangwan are not clear, contraindication is prohibited for pregnant women. Precautions are caution for athletes.
