Medicines that can remove dampness include Huo Xiang Zheng Qi San and Ginseng Ling Bai Zhu San. Huo Xiang Zheng Qi San is composed of Huo Xiang, Angelica dahurica, Dahua Pi, Perilla frutescens, Semen Xie, Atractylodes macrocephala and Atractylodes macrocephala. It is used for malignant cold (fear of cold) and fever, headache, pain in the epigastrium (stomach and abdomen), nausea and vomiting, and intestinal tinnitus and diarrhea. It is also used for acute gastroenteritis or four-season cold that is dampness stagnation (stagnation of dampness in the spleen and stomach) and external wind-cold. Ginseng, Poria, Atractylodes Macrocephalae (Stir-fried), Chinese yam, white lentil (Stir-fried) and lotus seed. It is used for weak spleen and stomach, resulting in loose stools, shortness of breath, cough, tiredness and fatigue. Avoid indigestible food. Clearing Heat and Dispelling Dampness Granules, composed of Radix Codonopsis Pilosulae, Rhizoma Pinelliae, Rhizoma Gangmai, Radix Astragali, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Rhizoma Chrysanthemum, and Pericarpium Citriodora. It is used for fatigue of limbs, loss of appetite, heat and dry mouth caused by summer dampness. Contraindicated for diabetic patients.
