As patients with renal tumors are now being detected and diagnosed early and gradually increased, if the renal tumors are less than 4cm, we recommend that it is more appropriate to use the surgical method of preserving the kidney, because after our surgical techniques and follow-up data of many cases, we can basically achieve the purpose of both tumor resection and preservation of the kidney, and the margins of the incision are also negative. Before the 1990s, radical nephrectomy was mostly used, and into the new century, laparoscopic radical nephrectomy was mostly used, and now we generally use laparoscopic tumor resection with preservation of the kidney, which is very effective and avoids the patients’ concern of removing the whole kidney. At the same time, we use laparoscopic super-selective partial nephrectomy, which only blocks the blood vessel of the one with the tumor and does not impair the function of the other part of the renal unit on this side of the kidney, and it recovers faster than the open surgery and preserves the function of the kidney to the maximum extent.
