How to treat an exposed bone in a broken leg

Exposed bones of the broken leg, i.e. exposed bone ends of the lower limb, exposed and necrotic bones should be removed surgically, and the exposed bone can only heal by covering it with a skin flap. 1. If the necrotic bone is not removed, it is usually difficult for it to grow on its own. After removal of the necrotic bone, the exposed necrotic bone is usually covered with a skin flap, or can be sutured directly if the area is relatively small and the surrounding tissue is good. 2. Exposed leg bone is a common clinical condition, and some patients are prone to plate exposure after surgery, which leads to infection and affects the speed of bone healing. If the exposed bone occurs, flap repair is often chosen, which is currently the most common, most effective and shortest treatment. In case of infected bone nonunion, it is necessary to take out the steel plate and select new materials for fixation, or even need to carry out bone grafting, and bone flap surgery is often chosen for repair. 3. Reposition and fix the fracture end, including internal fixation and external fixation, close the wound in one stage, and use antibiotics if necessary to prevent postoperative infection from causing serious consequences. When the lower limbs have exposed bone ends, you should consult a doctor immediately, do not dispose of it by yourself, so as not to delay the treatment or even cause serious infection.
