What herbs can treat hepatitis B

Traditional Chinese medicine has certain advantages in the treatment of hepatitis B. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that most of the liver inflammation activities belong to liver and gallbladder damp-heat, so we should use prescriptions to clear the liver and gallbladder damp-heat, such as pendant herb, snake tongue herb, tiger scepter or Artemisia indica soup, all of which have a better effect on lowering transaminases. When hepatitis B progresses to fibrosis or cirrhosis, Chinese medicine considers it as qi deficiency and blood stasis, and can be used to promote the degradation of fibrous tissues in the liver by activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis, mostly using turtle nail, tortoise shell, salvia, peach kernel, safflower and astragalus. However, Chinese medicine has not been very effective in reducing hepatitis B virus replication, and no larger-scale laboratory data have been seen, except for a few scattered reports. Therefore, to reduce hepatitis B virus replication, the use of herbal medicine is not recommended for the time being.
