Cephalosporin is a general term for a class of drugs that are divided into four generations. In the case of cephalexin, for example, the pediatric dosage is 6.25 to 12.5 mg/kg by weight every 6 hours.
There are many cephalosporins, and the pediatric dosage and indications for different drugs vary. Cefradin, a commonly used generational drug, is mainly used for otitis media, tonsillitis, acute pharyngitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, genitourinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections caused by sensitive bacteria. Pediatrics are given 6.25~12.5mg/kg according to body weight, every 6 hours.
The main adverse reactions of Cefradin are gastrointestinal reactions such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, epigastric discomfort, etc. It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to cephalosporins and penicillins.
