The difference between angina pectoris and breast pain is that angina pectoris is a temporary pain caused by ischemia and hypoxia of the heart muscle. Breast pain is the pain caused by the breast, and there is a fundamental difference between the two. Angina pectoris and breast pain can be positive during electrocardiogram, angina pectoris during an attack or during exercise test, coronary angiogram and coronary CT. In contrast, breast pain is negative on these tests. The pain of angina can be relieved after rest or elimination of triggers and lasts for a shorter period of time, while breast pain does not ease after rest and lasts for a longer period of time, and the degree of pain is different between the two. Angina can be relieved with nitroglycerin containing medication, while breast pain is ineffective.
