Survival time for myeloid leukemia at 60 years of age

Acute myeloid leukemia is critical, if not treated in time, the course of the disease is usually 3 to 6 months, and if actively and systematically treated, it can usually survive for 3 to 5 years. Chronic myeloid leukemia survival is 3 to 4 years, about a quarter can survive for more than 5 years, and individual can survive for 10 to 20 years. In addition, the survival time is also related to age and underlying disease, etc. Middle-aged and elderly people in their 60s have a shorter survival period compared to younger people. In myeloid leukemia patients with underlying diseases, survival may be affected by the disease. Adult myeloid leukemia can have a remission rate of about 60% after systematic radiotherapy, and about half of the patients can survive for 3 to 5 years. Survival rates are somewhat higher for patients with bone marrow transplants. Therefore, once leukemia is diagnosed, it should be treated aggressively to maximize survival time.
