Adverse effects of lithium carbonate

Lithium carbonate is divided into early adverse reactions, late adverse reactions and aura of poisoning according to the time of appearance, such as the following: I. Early adverse reactions, such as nausea, vomiting, anorexia, diarrhea, epigastric discomfort, fatigue, fine tremor of the fingers, drowsiness, polyuria, dry mouth, etc. Second, late adverse reactions, such as persistent polyuria, irritable thirst, goiter, mucinous edema, fine tremor of fingers, etc. Third, the aura of lithium carbonate poisoning manifests as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, coarse tremor, dullness, sleepiness, dizziness, twitching, dysarthria and impaired consciousness. If the above-mentioned aura of poisoning appears, the use of lithium carbonate should be reduced or stopped immediately according to the condition to avoid serious effects.
