Pediatric acupressure techniques for night sweats

The main massage techniques for treating pediatric night sweating include rubbing the sun and taiyin, clearing and tonifying the lung meridian, tonifying the spleen meridian, and tonifying the kidney meridian.
Pediatric night sweating refers to the disease phenomenon that children’s body sweats easily when they are asleep and the sweating stops when they wake up. As opposed to spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the daytime, aggravated by sweating with a little movement), night sweating is generally considered to be caused by children’s yin deficiency and internal heat, and fluid deficiency, and can be treated by using TCM Tuina massage therapy.
The treatment consists of first doing for the patient the clearing of Tianhe Shui, clearing the heart and liver together, then rubbing the two on the horse, followed by rubbing the Sun Taiyin, tonifying the spleen meridian, then clearing and tonifying the lung meridian, rubbing the top of the kidneys, then tonifying the kidney meridian, fishing for the moon under the water, and lastly, rubbing the Taixi, and rubbing the Baresha across the body. This formula focuses on benefiting Qi, nourishing Yin and astringing sweat.
This massage technique is a specialized operation and should be performed by a professional doctor. If the patient has symptoms of night sweating that require this operation, it is recommended that he/she go to a regular hospital for treatment.
