One and a half years after total prostate cancer resection, patients need to retest serum prostate-specific antigen, color ultrasound and whole-body bone scan, life and psychological assessment, etc., which should be referred to the program given by the physician.
1. Serum prostate-specific antigen: that is, prostate-specific antigen test (PSA), if the patient has undergone prostate cancer resection, then the prostate gland as well as the tumor have been removed, the patient needs to be regularly rechecked and physically examined, and a value of prostate-specific antigen greater than 0.2 ng/ml suggests that the tumor has a higher risk of progression.
2. Ultrasound: ultrasound of urinary system can find out whether there is any sign of recurrence in the tumor site, and ultrasound of abdomen can find out whether there is liver metastasis of the tumor and so on.
3. Whole-body bone scan: Whole-body bone scan can be performed to observe whether there is any cancer cell metastasis, and prostate cancer is most likely to have bone metastasis.
4. Life and psychological assessment: quality of life scores, anxiety assessment and other scales can be used for assessment, and psychiatry and other related departments can be consulted if necessary.
After total excision of prostate cancer, the specific review program should be arranged according to the doctor’s guidance, pay attention to the regularity of diet, don’t eat too salty, too spicy and stimulating food, and avoid prolonged sitting and standing, pay more attention to rest, and don’t be over-fatigued.
