How to determine whether to take oseltamivir

The determination of whether oseltamivir should be taken is based primarily on the presence of the following associated clinical symptoms, including fever, headache, generalized muscle or joint pain, malaise, loss of appetite, sore throat, dry cough, nasal congestion, runny nose, and other symptoms similar to influenza A or B. Oseltamivir inhibits the neuraminidase activity of influenza A and B viruses, thereby inhibiting the release of viruses from infected cells and reducing the spread of influenza A or B viruses, and is primarily used for the treatment of influenza A and B in adults, children one year of age and older. Oseltamivir is not a substitute for influenza vaccine and should not be administered within two weeks of the administration of attenuated inactivated influenza vaccine and within 48 hours of the administration of attenuated inactivated influenza vaccine.
