Be wary of bad cosmetic injections

These days, specialist clinics are constantly seeing candidates for nasal injection materials. Most of them don’t realize how dangerous it is. Once approved for legal use in mainland China 10 years ago, the injectable was quickly banned because of serious problems, including breast ulceration, necrosis, cancer and other serious problems, which surprised patients, physicians and officials approving it at the Ministry of Health. But being banned didn’t mean it disappeared; it gradually moved to the underground market. Because of the similarity in appearance and cost of legal hyaluronic acid, unscrupulous vendors and beauty parlors, driven by ultra-high profits, illegally use OxyContin or OxyContin-Bourbonic Acid mixtures to inject into patients’ bodies. Anyone who has been a medical doctor or graduate student knows that the PAGE (polyacrylamide) gels used in western-blot electrophoresis tests that we use when studying proteins from the skin or other sources are the ingredients in OxyContin! You know that we are required to wear thick gloves to prevent contact with these toxic substances during experiments! Today, it turns into a valuable cosmetic injection and slowly flows into your body, where it rots and deteriorates over the years! And even if a small amount of hidden lurking in the body, it is not very docile; often cause tissue degeneration (yellowing, tofu dregs-like changes), redness, pus, malignant changes. Moreover, chronic degeneration of local tissues, poor blood supply, bacterial residues, and weak local resistance after surgery can easily cause secondary infection and suppuration! What is even more annoying is that it is injected into the body with a fine needle; most of them are distributed like a honeycomb; it is more difficult to remove them completely; organs with skeleton and thick cover like nose still have hope to be plucked out completely, but special organs like breasts, because the internal tissues can’t be removed, can’t be taken out at all, and will carry the poison for the rest of their lives! No wonder a friend of mine exclaimed yesterday after learning more about —— that this is a material from hell! Now, I have performed full cartilage rhinoplasty for many victims of this hellish injection, saving their noses from a horrible fate. It’s not easy and stressful, but if none of our specialists at the Nine Hospitals are willing to take on such tricky cases, the patients really have to fall into hell.
