It is used for treating wind-heat colds, headache, dizziness and discomfort, redness and swelling of the eyes, and double vision. Adverse reactions are not clear, and caution should be exercised in cases of stomach cold and diarrhea caused by qi deficiency. Astragalus is warm in nature, sweet in taste, and belongs to the lung and spleen meridians. It is used for treating Qi deficiency and weakness, poor feeding, loose stools (thin and unformed feces), prolonged diarrhea and prolapse of anus. Adverse reactions and contraindications are not known.
