What is Aciclovir Ointment

  Acyclovir is a synthetic purine nucleoside antiviral drug whose mechanism of action is to interfere with viral DNA polymorpha and inhibit viral replication, and has an inhibitory effect on herpes simplex virus, varicella zoster virus and cytomegalovirus. Acyclovir ointment is a topical form with acyclovir as the main ingredient and petroleum jelly and glycerin as excipients. The ointment is a semi-solid topical preparation with a certain consistency made by mixing the drug with a suitable matrix evenly. The drug contained in it can be dissolved or dispersed in the matrix.  Acyclovir ointment is used for the treatment of the following diseases: 1. Herpes simplex virus infection: for initial and recurrent facial and genital herpes virus infections.  2.Herpes zoster.  3. Treatment of varicella in immunodeficient individuals. Usage: Topical application: once every 3 hours, 6 times a day for 7 days for both adults and children. The application of local skin can be seen as mild pain, burning, tingling, itching and rash and other adverse reactions. If symptoms are not relieved after 7 days of continuous use, consult a physician. This product is for use on skin mucous membranes only and should not be used on the eyes. Wear finger covers or gloves when applying the drug. Use with caution in pregnant and lactating women. It is prohibited for those who are allergic to this product and should be used with caution by allergic persons.
