The pre-testing test for IVF is required to have an empty stomach, and laboratory tests and ultrasound tests, etc. will be performed under the supervision of the doctor.
IVF, or in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET), is a process in which eggs and sperm are fertilized outside the body and embryos are cultured to the zygote-globule or blastocyst stage before being transferred to the uterine cavity to implant and develop into a fetus. Before the IVF-ET procedure, a fasting period is required to perform relevant endocrine tests, laboratory tests such as eugenics, and ultrasonography.
After the embryo transfer, luteal support therapy should be continued as prescribed by the doctor. 2 weeks after the transfer, blood or urine HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) levels need to be tested to determine pregnancy, and ultrasound examination should be performed 4-5 weeks after the transfer to determine whether the pregnancy is normal intrauterine pregnancy, and to find out the development of the embryo.
