Postoperative complications are closely related to the pathological type of the appendix and the lateness of the operation time. After resection of unperforated appendicitis, the complication rate is only 5%, while the rate increases to more than 30% for those operated after perforation, and the rate of appendiceal perforation is 20% and 70% for those operated after 24 hours and 48 hours after the onset, respectively.
